Paris is a small town located in the northeast corner of Texas, about 100 miles northeast of Dallas. As of the 2020 US Census, the population of Paris was estimated to be around 24,000 people. The town covers an area of about 45 square miles and is the county seat of Lamar County.

Paris was founded in 1844 and named after the city of Paris in France – that’s one year before Texas became part of the United States of America in 1845!

The town has a rich history, with a number of historic buildings and landmarks, including the Sam Bell Maxey House State Historic Site, which is a restored Victorian-era home that belonged to a prominent local family.
