Barrs, Coiner & Lumpkin, LLC, formerly Carmichael, Clay & Barrs, LLC, was founded in 1994. We are a full-service accounting and consulting firm located in Brunswick, Georgia that services the
southeast Georgia and northeast Florida areas, providing income tax, accounting and auditing services for individuals, businesses and non profits with industry specializations in construction
and religious organizations.
W. James Barrs, Jr., CPA is the managing member of the firm. Jim has over 30 years of accounting experience including 14 years as a financial executive for one of ENR’s Top 100 Contractors. In addition to his responsibilities as the managing member, he provides income tax planning, IRS representation in audits and personal financial planning for individual clients. Jim provides financial analysis for corporate clients including lease versus buy decisions, budgeting, cash flow
analysis, structuring financial statements for credit purposes, and retirement planning. For general contractors he provides specialized consulting services such as claims damage identification and
analysis, structuring financial statements for optimum bonding capacity, representation in DCAA audits, SBA 8(a) application assistance and compliance.
Jim is a graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor of business administration in accounting. He is a member of the Tax Section of the AICPA and the Real Estate Section of the

Penny Hendry Lumpkin, CPA has over 20 years of public accounting experience and joined the firm in 2003. With the firm Penny performs nonprofit and commercial audits, as well as other attestation
engagements. In addition to these engagements, Penny provides consulting services, religious financial and accounting training, and tax preparation for our individual and business clients.
Penny is a graduate of Georgia Southern University with a bachelor of business administration degree in accounting. She is a member in good standing of the Georgia Society of Certified Public
Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Penny is a past president of the Coastal Georgia Chapter of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants. Penny is a
member of at Elm Grove Baptist Church, has been an active volunteer with local nonprofit organizations, and is a presenter at Church conferences on financial and accounting matters. Penny

Robin L. Blackwell, Senior Accountant, has over 25 years of accounting, commercial lending, and portfolio servicing experience including Chief Financial Officer for a commercial and small business
lending non-profit organization. With the firm, Robin provides tax prepartion for our individual and business clients, Quickbooks assistance, and financial statement preparation.
Robin is a graduate of Northwood Univeristy with a bachelor of business administration, is a certified Economic Development Finance Professional, and past Treasurer for the Brunswick High PTSA.
