Mrs. Bishop is a certified public accountant, licensed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and certified by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) with an accreditation in business valuation. She holds her Master of Science in Accounting and Financial Management from the University of Maryland University College (2007) and is an honors graduate of Rider University with a Bachelor of Science in Commerce – Accounting (1984). Sharon’s 20 years of work experience includes 10 years (1998 to 2008) as a partner with a southern New Jersey CPA firm.
She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants, and the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is the chairman of the NJSCPA Matrimonial Services/Family Law Committee and a member of the Scholarship Awards Committee, helping with the Scholars Institute and Pay It Forward programs.
Mrs. Bishop has prepared reports for and testified as an expert witness in court proceedings for purposes of matrimonial, stockholder, and economic damages/lost profits litigation. She has prepared valuation reports for business and professional practices for purposes of matrimonial litigation, shareholder disputes and estate planning. Mrs. Bishop conducts forensic accounting engagements in connection with report preparation.
Sharon has been a speaker at the NJ Judicial College, speaks and attends seminars conducted by the AICPA, the NJSCPA and the Institute for Continuing Legal Education concerning business valuation, matrimonial litigation and federal and state taxation. She has written articles for local publications regarding the use of a financial expert in divorce proceedings and federal taxation. She has also been an on-site auditor for State and Local Scholarship Awards Pageants.
Mrs. Bishop concentrates her practice on accounting, tax and consulting services for closely held businesses, individuals involved in matrimonial litigation and businesses involved in civil litigation. Represented industries include manufacturing, distribution, food service, retail, finance, real estate, nonprofit organizations and professional practices and for. She has extensive experience with tax audits, tax planning and has represented companies and stockholders in business startups and sales. Mrs. Bishop is a board member and treasurer of the Burlington County Special Services School District Education Foundation (Mt. Holly, NJ) and the Monarch Condominium Association (Wildwood Crest, NJ) and a board member and chairman of the audit committee of the Evergreens Continuing Care Retirement Community (Moorestown, NJ).
