Jason Tonjes
CPA, CFE Managing Shareholder
Jason Tonjes, CPA, CFE, Managing Shareholder, has spent his entire career devoted to the success of Bland & Associates, P.C. He joined the Bland family right out of college in an entry level position in 1996. Just ten years later he bought the firm, with the goal of achieving the company’s long-standing mission of providing outstanding client service as well as fulfilling careers for firm personnel.
To ensure superior client service and success, Tonjes says he simply leads by example.
“I treat every client situation like their business is my business – it’s important to listen to the client, be accessible, and provide timely, accurate advice,” he said. “This is the mentality of all members of our Bland family; it is the most basic thing that unites us.”
“Our ability to truly partner with our clients to achieve their goals is what sets Bland & Associates apart from other, more traditional CPA firms,” Tonjes continued.
In addition to overseeing the day-to-day functions of Bland & Associates, Tonjes also oversees the Government Consulting Department, working directly with various government agencies as part of their oversight responsibilities.
Growing up on a farm near Pender, Nebraska, Jason Tonjes developed a strong work ethic at an early age – an asset that continues to be a benefit to his staff and his clients. He attended Midland University in Fremont, Nebraska, where he earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting, as well as a B.S. in Economics. He holds CPA certifications in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Colorado, South Dakota, Maryland, Minnesota, and Michigan. He is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE).
In 2006, Tonjes made the Midland’s Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” list, an honor for leaders under 40 based on their contributions to their business and community. He was also named Outstanding Young Alumni of Midland University in 2008.
