Steve is the owner of Furrer & Associates, Inc. and has operated a successful accounting practice in Westlake for the past 23 years. In October 2011, he acquired a second firm based out of Avon Lake. Over the summer of 2013, the two firms officially merged at the Westlake location. Steve earned his Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Michigan in 1986 and his Bachelors of Science from Indiana University in 1980. Steve advises clients in a variety of areas including business valuation, financing assistance and advanced tax and corporate structure issues. Before founding Furrer & Associates in 2003, he was the managing partner of its predecessor accounting firm for 10 years. Prior to that, he was employed for over 10 years by National City Corporation in various lending and credit areas and by Deloitte Haskins and Main Hurdman CPAs both “big five” CPA firms. He is a member of both the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Ohio Society of CPAs and holds the Accreditation in Business Valuation (ABV). Steve resides in Avon Lake with his wife and three children. He is an active community member with his involvement in various coaching and church responsibilities.
