located here in Hawaii and on the mainland. Clients are closely held businesses and their owners, family groups, real estate holding and development LLCs, trusts and estates. Our clients value personal service, expertise, and attention to their needs.
We work closely with our clients’ attorneys, financial and estate planners, and other advisors. When tax or accounting work outside of our areas of expertise is needed, we recommend or hire specialists. We do not manage investments or provide investment advice, however, we regularly help clients evaluate business and investment opportunities.
When hiring a CPA it is crucial that the client and CPA establish a close working relationship built on mutual trust. We carefully accept new clients on a limited referral basis.
Nick Detor is a CPA and has been in practice since 1977. After serving with Deloitte in Honolulu from 1977 through 1985, he formed Detor & Williams CPAs in 1989, serving clients for almost 20 years. Since July of 2008, he has practiced as J. Nick Detor CPA, LLC.
