Jim Whiting (on the left) began his accounting career as an auditor and tax adviser at an international CPA firm and later served as the controller for a large real estate investment syndicator. After service in the Navy and attendance at business school, Ted Krauss also began his accounting career as an auditor and tax adviser at one of the former “Big 8” CPA firms. Ted founded the firm in San Diego in 1974 and, along the way, has syndicated and managed investment partnerships with a focus on real estate and marketable securities since 1979.
Jim and Ted joined forces in 1988 and formed Krauss Whiting in order to provide strategic tax advice and family-office services for businesses and investors.
Today the firm offers comprehensive financial services. We work hand-in-hand with clients and their other advisers from initial planning through development and implementation of investment policies, while addressing accounting and tax compliance, all in pursuit of our clients’ financial objectives.
