Koly & Company, Inc. was formed January 1, 1996 by David M. Koly. The formation of Koly & Company, Inc. was the result of David’s desire to concentrate his efforts on assisting family owned and operated businesses and high net worth individuals in the Akron area. The practice of Koly & Company, Inc. concentrates principally on helping these clients in minimizing their tax liabilities and assisting with the many day-to-day problems business owners face.
One of the reasons behind the formation of Koly & Company, Inc. was to be able to provide a high degree of continuity to our clients. Due to our size and business philosophy, we assure our clients continuity at every level of service to the company and its owners. This uninterrupted level of service can be especially important to financial and accounting personnel. It is also important for our clients to develop the feeling of trust and confidence necessary to properly plan for the future.
Koly & Company, Inc. personnel have extensive experience with complex accounting, tax, and management advisory situations. These experiences assure clients of the highest standard of quality performance in the course of normal services and provides a diversity of knowledge and flexibility for specialized projects.

DAVID M. KOLY, CPA
David, a life-long Akron resident, is a Certified Public Accountant. Prior to opening his own accounting practice in January of 1996, he was affiliated with Touche Ross & Co. and its predecessor, J.K. Lasser & Co., for over six years, and was a partner in a local firm for twelve years. David has had experience in auditing, business consulting, tax research and compliance, and personal financial planning. He specializes in working with closely held corporations in the medical, service, wholesale distribution, retail, construction, and manufacturing industries.
David is a graduate of the University of Akron with a B.S. degree in Accounting and has attended the Masters of Taxation program at the University of Akron. He graduated from St. Vincent – St. Mary High School in Akron.
David is a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Medical Group Management Association. David is a Notary Public in the State of Ohio. He was previously treasurer and board member of the Akron Jaycees, the Akron Jaycees Foundation, treasurer of the YMCA Endowment Foundation, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Akron Rotary Club and chairman of the finance committee at the Portage Country Club. He is presently a director of the Akron Zoological Park, and Bluecoats Incorporated, director of a local private foundation, chairman of the advisory board of Francesca Residence and director and treasurer of the One-In-Six Foundation. David is a graduate of the 1990-1991 class of Leadership Akron. He is a member of the West Akron Board of Trade, Bluecoats, Rotary Club of Akron and Portage Country Club.
David lives in Akron with his wife, Nancy, and daughter, Kristen. He enjoys spending his free time playing tennis, golf and shooting sporting clays. As a family, they are parishioners of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Akron.
