Certified Public Accountant
Ed Cilumbrello is the namesake of the firm and concentrates on helping people. This is what he enjoys most in public accounting. Ed focuses his attention on both business owners and individuals. He takes great pride in helping business owner strive in all economic conditions. Ed strongly believes that a well managed company will prosper in both a good times and in a bad economy. Ed began developing his extensive background in accounting and tax by bringing together his experiences in both corporate and public accounting.
Ed began his business career with Sears Roebuck as a credit manager. After a successful stint at the Modawmin store, he was assigned to the Annapolis store. He returned to Baltimore and started with a local public accounting firm located downtown, Edmund D. Meyers & Co. He then followed several other members of the firm to Earl C. Rickerds & Associates in Towson. Here he was in charge of several clients and particpated in quite a few of the Baltimore Colts businesses including Johnny Unitas, Bobby Boyd and Andy Nelson. After stints at Johns Hopkins Hospital and Cummins-Wagner, Inc. where he gained a wealth of IT experience, Ed then returned to public accounting as director of managment conulting for Stegman & Company, a regional firm located downtown. The firm had many banks with mainframe computers as clients at that time and Ed set up some of the earliest computer auditing programs in the state. He also taught numerous data courses for various organizations.
He then went to help a family owned contracting business where he eventually became Vice President. As the years went on, Ed thought about starting his own firm and returning to public accounting. He did just that in 1994, working out of his home in White Marsh. He opened the present day office in 1996. Since that time, the firm has steadily grown.
Ed graduated from Loyola College in Baltimore with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. He passed the CPA exam in 1976 and gave several presentations at a local community college. Ed works extensively with the Peachtree and QuickBooks accounting software and has been a QuickBooks ProAdvisor since the program begun. He has taught QuickBooks to small business owners and their employees.
Ed is married to Gloria, the office manager. They have been together for over 20 years. All of their children are grown. In addition to to the office, where you may find him 7 days a week, Ed enjoys competitive sailing. He belongs to a local club, where he keeps his sailboat and enjoys his summer there. Ed has been very active in this club for over 30 years, giving freely of his time, holding many positions over those years. He has also belonged to a local sailing club for over 40 years. Here he has been elected to many offices, including Fleet Captain and Commodore. He has also belonged to many community organizations over the years and has recently become involved in politics.

Bott Tax & Accounting’s office is located in the growing White Marsh region. Now, with development in the area growing at a blistering pace, we have established a strategic location convenient to a generous portion of the Baltimore metropolitan area. We have not limited ourselves to this customer base however, since we enjoy serving the needs of several businesses as far south as Florida. Additionally, we manage transient clients who travel throughout the United States. Our commitment to them remains in large part due to their confidence in our ability to meet their needs.
