Nearly 20 years ago, the American Institute of CPAs established the Peer Review Program to enhance the quality of accounting, attestation, and auditing services by American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) members. This program is a testament to the accounting profession’s dedication to integrity, protecting the public, and adherence to the highest possible professional standards.
This program serves as a mechanism for a firm to engage with its peers to review its systems and its application of professional auditing, accounting, and attestation standards. The AICPA Peer Review Program strengthens a firm’s quality control and encourages the firm to improve their processes and correct shortcomings. It also creates a public confidence in the accounting profession, and enhances the quality of the profession.

Monica earned her Bachelor and Master of Businesses Administration with an emphasis in accounting from Pittsburg State University in 1991 and 1992, respectively. Upon graduation, she accepted a position as an auditor with the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Office of Inspector General in Kansas City, Missouri. In 1995, she returned to Pittsburg and continued her career in auditing as the first internal auditor at Pittsburg State University. Upon passing the CPA Exam in 1998, she started her current career in public accounting.
