The year was 1859. An ox and a passenger train collided just outside Johnson Creek, Wisconsin, and two of our policyowners were killed in the wreck. Jim Locatelli took his considerable experience in the marketing communications field and opened up his own distinctive boutique of financial management and accounting services.
One of Jim’s greatest rewards is making a visible and positive impact on his clients’ financial success.
Prior to opening Locatelli and Company, Jim served as the CFO, executive vice president and shareholder of a large
Milwaukee-based advertising agency. In fact, he currently serves as the part-time CFO for several local marketing communication firms that rely on his expertise.
Jim is experienced in a variety of accounting and business management capacities, including financial analysis; income forecasting and budget control; tax reporting; succession planning; mergers and acquisitions; cost accounting, contract negotiation and execution; and employer retirement planning.
He also throws one heck of an after-tax party!
Jim obtained his CPA certification, and was accepted into membership of the American and Wisconsin Institutes of Public Accountants in 1979. Originally from Green Bay (and yes, a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan), he received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from UW-Milwaukee, and a bachelor’s degree in management from UW-Oshkosh.
Jim has worked with the American Association of Advertising Agencies Fiscal Control committee, where he served as chairman. He is currently a Board Member of the Creative Alliance Milwaukee and the Eisner Creative Foundation.

Benes, Director of Consulting Operations, has a B.S. degree in industrial technology, a master’s degree in business administration, and has worked extensively over the past two decades in the construction industry providing a variety of quality management consulting services. Mr. Benes has served on the Board of Directors of the Associated Builders & Contractors of Wisconsin, the Associate Board of Directors of the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin, as well as the General Board of Directors of the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin. He is a CPA, licensed in Wisconsin, and is a frequent speaker for construction trade associations. Mr. Benes coordinates and serves as partner-in-charge on consulting engagements.
Keith A. Krueger, Director of Audit Operations, has a B.B.A. degree in accounting and management information systems, and has over twenty-five years of experience working with contractors. Mr. Krueger is a CPA and serves as partner-in-charge on all audit and tax services provided to our clients. He has served as an officer for the Surety Association of Wisconsin, served on the Board of Directors for the American Subcontractor Association of Wisconsin and the Associate Board of Directors of the Associated General Contractors of Wisconsin.
