Steven Johnson, CPA, Partner
Steven graduated from the College of Charleston in 2000 with a Bachelors of Science in Accounting and received a Masters in Accountancy in 2001 from the University of Charleston. Previously Steven was a Tax Manager with the largest CPA firm in the Southeast. Steven specializes in tax compliance and planning for individuals as well as corporate, partnership and trust clients. His clients range from industries such as construction, real estate, retail, restaurant and hospitality and manufacturing. Steven is a big advocate for local businesses and was instrumental in the firm’s involvement with Lowcountry Local First. When not working, Steven spends most of his time paddle boarding or on the beach at Sullivan’s Island with Heidi and their two children, Alaina and Kai. When not on the beach or in water, they spend time traveling or playing with their various pets.

We are a Mid-Michigan CPA firm with full-time offices in Mount Pleasant and Midland. Our firm’s founders, Glen D. Blystone and Thomas J. Bailey, have worked in public accounting for over 37 years. Glen and Tom began working together in 1976, beginning as employees of a regional CPA firm in Bay City, then practicing under their own names as sole practitioners, and subsequently organizing Blystone and Bailey CPAs, P.C. in 1986. Today, our firm employs about twenty-five individuals including CPAs, accountants, paraprofessionals, and support staff.

Jill Bourland, CPA
Principal, CEO
Jill has been with our firm since 1996. During her eighteen years, she has been mostly involved in planning, conducting and overseeing the audit practice. Her audit experience includes MSHDA, including LIHTC Cost Certifications, Rural Development, HUD, construction and hotel/restaurant entities. She has been the in-charge CPA for more than ten years on more than 30 subsidized housing audit projects annually. Jill graduated from Central Michigan University in December 1992. She currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Mt. Pleasant Area Community Foundation and she serves on the Business Advisory Committee for Mt. Pleasant Public Schools-Area Tech Center. In 2001, she completed the Leadership Institute program through the Mt. Pleasant Area Chamber of Commerce.
