Donald W. Luby, CPA
Don has been in business since 1980. He is a long time resident of Seattle, raised in Ballard where he attended St. Alphonus and then onto St. Edwards Seminary, Seattle Prep. He graduated from Seattle University. Don started his career with the Army Audit Agency in San Francisco before he was drafted. He was attached to the Army Audit Angency serving in Korea and Viet Nam. His government job spanned 13 years and included 3 years in Europe managing an audit office. Don mostly practices in the Federal Tax area. He manages the firm.
Don is active with serveral non-profit organizations; Special Olympics Washington, Knights of Columbus , Serra Club.
Pamela A. Thomson, CPA
Pam graduated from California State University. Pam has worked with two National CPA firms before joining Luby and Thomson, PLLC. She specializes in performing Certified Audits, Reviews and Compilations in various industries including Not-For-Profit, HOA’s, and Construction companies. She also prepares Tax Returns for individuals and all other entities as well as Peer Reviews for other CPA’s.
Pam is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants where she is a member of the Peer Review Committee.
Christopher Mooney, CPA
Chris is our newest Partner. He co-manages the tax portion of the firm with Don. Chris holds a Masters of Taxation and Bachelors in Accounting from the University of Southern California. He specializes in the tax aspects of business transactions and operations as well as international taxation preparation and planning. Prior to joining Luby & Thomson, Chris spent 5 years working at Grant Thornton LLP where he helped reduce the U. S. and world-wide effective tax rates of large privately-held businesses, small public companies, venture capital investments, and individuals. He is passionate about proactively helping his clients understand how the tax law impacts them and what changes can be made to generate tax savings.
