I have years of accounting experience, of course… I’m a CPA. But more than that… I have had ownership interests in a retail store, an outdoor services company, multiple restaurants, rental property, and a marketing firm. Not all of those ventures worked out well, but the lessons were, and are, invaluable. I’ve also consulted with clients in numerous other industries. In other words, my advice doesn’t just come from my education, it comes from education and real-world experience. I’ve seen, and practiced, what works and what doesn’t work.
I’m happily married with four children ranging in age from college to elementary school. Born in Deleware, raised in West Virginia (Go Mountaineers!), college in Arkansas (Go HOGS!), and one of twenty one children.
I had the blessing of being born into a Christian family and being taught about God at an early age. My parents made it possible for me to attend a Christian college (Harding University) where I met a Christian woman. In addition to my work as a CPA, I had the privelege to serve for nine years as the minister of the Allensville Church of Christ in Allensville, KY.

I have over fifteen years of accounting experience in a variety of settings. Working at a small local firm during and after college, I performed tax, write-up, and compliance work for a variety of small businesses. During a twelve year career with HCA Internal Audit, I specialized in accounts receivable valuations and revenue cycle operations for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. As a independent consultant, I have provided expertise on accounts receivable valuations for hospital systems and physician practices. I am a CPA and have a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Lipscomb University.
I really enjoy teaching in both academic and church settings. Toward this end, I have completed graduate and post graduate studies at the Hazelip School of Theology and Asbury Theological Seminary. Additionally, I have taught courses at Lipscomb University and Pepperdine University.
My wife Kristy and I have been married for twenty years and have two children—Ezra (9) and Ember (6). We live in Goodlettsville, TN and are remodeling a house built by my grandfather.
